CannaWorkforce, Inc.
Launched in 2023, CannaWorkforce, Inc., is funded by a Maryland Department of Labor EARN grant (Employment Advancement Right Now) and is the first workforce development program of its kind in Maryland. CannaWorkforce delivers cannabis industry programs that train the unemployed and underemployed to work in Maryland- and neighboring-state-regulated cannabis industries in cultivation, trimming, processing, and dispensary operations. Learners must be Maryland residents and hold a GED or high school diploma.
CannaWorkforce collaborates with Strategic Industry Partners (SIP) to ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry needs. The organization works with SIPs to interview and, when a match is found, hire successful learners.
CannaWorkforce’s curriculum aligns with Maryland’s state-mandated Responsible Vendor Training (RVT), ensuring that successful learners become top candidates. The program includes more science and patient care content than the MCA requires of RVT.

CannabizMD presents Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA)-Certified Maryland Responsible Vendor Training – the state-mandated cannabis industry education required for all Maryland-cannabis-industry-badged employees, or “agents.”
Responsible Vendor Training (RVT) programs support licensee compliance and enhance the safety of Maryland medical cannabis patients, adult-use consumers, and industry employees. All cannabis business agents—including those working for growers, processors, and dispensaries—are required to complete an MCA-approved training course prior to January 1st each year.
CannabizMD RVT goes beyond the minimum MCA requirements, delivering enhanced training that covers not only mandated topics like state laws, diversion prevention, and impairment recognition, but also in-depth modules on cannabis plant science and cannabis and the human body—providing agents with a deeper understanding of the products they handle and their effects on adult-use consumers and medical cannabis patients.
